Through the fire

I have a firm belief that the struggles and challenges of life make us better. Still knowing and believing that it makes it hard when those faith-testing challenges come around! We just found out my nephew Jake has relapsed with the leukemia he finished treatment for just SIX MONTHS ago! My heart aches for their family! Cancer is such an awful thing! To go through it once is hard enough, but TWICE? It just doesn't seem quite fair. Although I know life will never seem "fair" I can't help but wonder WHY they have to go through it again. I find comfort in this quote...and I hope all who go through hardships (because we all do) recognize the greater purpose behind the struggles we face.

So here's to my nephews family. Good luck with the tough journey you're starting again. I have to believe Jake will beat the odds stacked against him! Keep the Jamieson family in your prayers and send positive thoughts their way. They will surely need them....just like we all do at times.
