Beach Bum

Part of our summer fun was taking Ellie to the beach. The great thing about these beach trips is that we didn't have to fly anywhere, just drive about 30 minutes. Going to the beach in Salt Lake City???  That's right and I'm not talking the stinky, brine shrimp covered beach of the Great Salt Lake. I'm talking about Herriman...or "harry-man" as we like to call it.  Who new the town of Herriman had so much to offer. I certainly didn't know they had a LAKE and a beach! Jason was training for a triathalon (more on that to come later) and wanted to practice some open water swims so we made an afternoon of it. With a picnic lunch, sun screen and sand toys we were off to the lake. And of course Ellie LOVED  every minute of it. She played with the sand and the sand toys for MAYBE two minutes and then headed right for the water. 

The temperature of the cold lake water didn't prevent her from getting right in. There was NO HESITATION from her about getting in the lake. She spent 80% of her time at the beach in the water. She crawled around in the water, splashed, crawled out to the beach then when back for more water fun. She is my little fish for sure.
