September 9th was a memorable day in the life of my little Ellie. She had her first trip to the Library and LOVED every second of it! As soon as we got there she was in a wonder land of new things to explore. She immediately started looking through books in some perfect baby size bins. We hadn't been there very long...maybe 3 minutes...when a very stinky odor started coming from her little bum. Not a problem usually - babies poop, it's just part of life. However the problem came when I decided to leave the diaper bag in the car. When I picked Ellie up and headed out the library she threw an absolute fit! She did NOT want to leave and she was letting me know it. I tried to tell her we just needed to go get the diaper bag and we'd come right back but that did nothing to comfort her and her desire to be in those books and exploring. She cried right until we walked back in the Library!!! (She is a little dramatic at times!) After a diaper change it was back to the bliss of the books and library shelves.
She had just as much fun playing and climbing all over the little people furniture as she did looking at all the books.
She loved exploring through all the shelves and even found a little play mate. I guess he found her rather and followed her all around. Ellie was content to do her own thing.
Not only did she have a ball crawling up and down all the isles she discovered climbing THROUGH the shelves was pretty neat too!
No trip to the library would be complete without a library card and new books to read...so we signed Ellie up. She got her very own library card. What a BIG girl! By the time we were finished she was more interested in her Smarties than her NEW LIBRARY CARD!
The spoils from our first library trip
Thank you Whitmore Library for all the fun and the great books!
